Digital/mobile wallets are no longer the wave of the future. They are already an integral part of our daily lives. The increased adoption of smartphones, tablets, apps and other mobile technologies has changed and eased the way customers make purchases and settle bills. Thanks to payment and credit card companies, banks and financial institutions which make digital wallets an everyday payment option, users can easily buy a cup of coffee, pay rent, split bills, and even transfer money using such mobile wallets as O! ePay, Yintran, Jetco Pay, WeChat Pay, CashYou, to name but a few platforms that are currently being offered in Hong Kong.

The Chamber has invited Mr Sammy Kam, Technical Director, Octopus Cards Limited and Mr Robert Liu, CEO, Yintran to update members on how mobile wallets provide both businesses and individuals a simple, swift and secure payment option. Mr Kam will share his views on FinTech development and payment market in Hong Kong and how Octopus tackles the challenges ahead and stay competitive in the market. Mr Liu will illustrate how Yintran allows consumers or merchants to safely transfer money under bank-grade security conditions.
