With the latest regional growth moderation, slowing global trade and tightening global financial conditions, the latter half of 2016 is set to be challenging to all. In a recent survey Coface conducted to examine corporate payment trends in 8 selected markets across the Asia-Pacific region: Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, 70% of the companies surveyed experienced overdues in 2015 with no improvement compared to 2014. In this seminar, Ms. Jackit Wong, Asia Pacific Economist of Coface, will share her views on:

• What is China's "new normal" and what are the spillover implications of China's rebalancing for trade and inequality in the region?
• In China, which sector are most "zombie companies" located, and then what's next?
• In the Asia-Pacific region, are Southeast Asia countries still showing high development potential? Which country has the worse payment experience?
• Which specific sector is the most risky across the region in the upcoming future? And what is Coface's take on the subject as a global credit insurer?
• What is the most effective action in case of non-payment across the region?

Jackit Wong is the Economist of Coface, Asia Pacific Region. Based in Hong Kong, she is responsible for conducting research on Asian economies, and giving presentations on the region's economic and industrial outlooks. Jackit has strong experience in economic and financial market research in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Coface, she was a senior economist at Hang Seng Bank and previously an economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis, where she conducted economic research and published regular and thematic reports on the region. Jackit is a PhD student in Finance at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and holds a MSc in Economics and Econometrics with Distinction from the University of Exeter in the UK. She is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
